I love your app and I am using it for years now. I’ve started with Brazilian Portuguese. Will it be possible to add Brazilian Portuguese to the list of languages?
It seems that Brazilian Portuguese is the most common version to learn Portuguese. Plus I can find more resources in Brazilian Portuguese, than from Portugal. Plus Portuguese from Brazil is much easier to understand.
So, please consider adding this language to the language list.
I would like to add that while Brazilian Portuguese maybe seems niche, locale-specific languages are pretty common. USA vs UK, France vs Canada, Spain vs the Americas, Brazil vs Portugal, etc. Looking at Steve’s post from Jan 7, the top four most used languages have notable regional differences ( en-US, en-UK, fr-FR, fr-CA, etc). So while I don’t have Lukasz’s exact request, maybe the solution could actually help A LOT of readers.
Thanks @Lukasz for posting this and thanks Steve for considering it.
I was thinking a bit about this. Because if we add every option of the language, the list would be huge.
So, maybe we can keep current layout with the drop down menu (with default pronunciation). But in settings tab, we could select which pronunciation we want to use. There’s massive difference between Brazilian and Portuguese version of Portuguese.
Hi, as in most apps, etc, Brazilian Portuguese in fact seems to be the default here. As far as pronunciation goes, there are two separate issues - the voice on the word cards, used also when you click on a word, and the read-aloud feature. The first, dependent on Readlang’s choice, is already all in Brazilian Portuguese, at least for me. The second depends on what browser you use. In Chrome, I get Brazilian Portuguese. In Edge, you get a choice, and much better voices.
