Hi,
I repeated the same practice session over and over again today for both Japanese (109 words marked as “ready”) and English (68 words) but it doesn’t update the number of reviewed words after I finish the review session. It is still 109 for Japanese and 68 for English and the due list is not updated either with the upcoming new SRS intervals. It looks like progress is not recorded.
Has anyone met the same issue recently?
Many thanks in advance for any insight regarding this issue,
Julian
You probably have to wait for the spaced repetition instead of practicing over and over the same day. Since you’re practicing the same words again on the same day, the due date doesn’t chance because spaced repetition is how the system knows if you really know thr word instead of using short term memory.
Update: it worked just fine yesterday but I noticed a few other issues today (not sure if I should open a new thread).
1/ the source language (“I know…”) was set to French for me and up until now it had remained French, only since last night every time I begin to read a new text it switches to “I know English”. I set it back to French but after a few minutes of reading it goes back to “I know English” (and the translations appear in English, as well as the AI explanations). No matter how many times I set it back to French, it always turns back to English after a short while.
2/ I sometimes edit translations for the words I save so as to make them more accurate but I noticed that they’re not saved (once again, since yesterday).
Are these issues something other users have met before?
Apologies if I should have opened another topic to discuss them but I didn’t feel like spamming the forum with my many questions.
Thanks!
don’t be sorry or felling as you annoying anyone you ask to fix your problem so that’s positive insted of just be silent ask as much as you wnat no one will be annoying becouse your complaine
I’ve just tested this and editing translations seems to be working for me in all the contexts I’ve tried (within the reader page, word list and practice sessions).
The fact that multiple different unrelated things seem to be going wrong for you makes me suspect either a network issue or browser compatibility issue perhaps. What OS and browser (name + version) are you using?
If you happen to be running Readlang in a tab that’s been open a very long time (days or weeks) then it would definitely be a good idea to refresh it to see if that helps.
Hi Steve, thank you for your reply. I use both my mobile phone (iOS 18.6) with Chrome and a computer (Windows 10) with Firefox. I realised it happens on the computer but on iOS it seems fine actually.
Hi, here’s an update in case someone had to deal with the same issue: everything works perfectly on my mobile (latest iOS) but on my laptop no matter how many times I review my flashcards, the number of cards set as “ready” never changes and the number of “reviewed today” stays the same, which is a bit strange since everything works properly on my phone.
I found this thread opened one year ago by another user and the way the issue was described seems to be exactly the same as what I’m having on my laptop (Windows 10, 21H2, using Firefox as browser, latest update was two days ago): No New Cards Reviewed 90 Words Today
