Using Readlang+ASB Player as a Makeshift Language Reactor

Hey y’all,

I saw a comment from someone on one of these threads saying they had figured out how to use ASB Player and Readlang together to create a sort of makeshift Language Reactor which I thought sounded super cool. Unfortunately, they never followed up on that thread with an explanation of how they set this up. Thankfully, I found out that its actually incredibly easy, and will be amazing going forward as I always wished there was some app that was a mashup of Language Reactor and Readlang. The setup here is as follows:

  1. Download ASB Player from the Chrome extension store
  2. Open whatever piece of content you want to watch (YouTube, Netflix, etc.) and then in ASB Player’s Side Panel press “Load Subtitles”
  3. Open the Readlang chrome extension

If everything worked correctly, you should be able to translate the subtitles that appear on screen just as you would any text that you import or read in your browser with the Readlang extension.

Hope yall find this as useful as I’m finding it!

Why not just import the YouTube video into Language Reactor?
