I vastly prefer Gemini’s context translations over 4o-mini. I am already paying for my Gemini subscription, so why not use that in readlang too? It would also save readlang some money as you wouldn’t have to pay for the API calls yourself. The same could be implemented for other AI providers like openai.
I went to https://gemini.google.com/, and entered some foreign text. I got a translation but I was not able to click on each word to get a word for word translation. So what exactly are you talking about?
The OP is talking about using his Gemini API key from google and being able to enter it into Readlang so that when he clicks on words in Readlang it uses his Gemini API key, rather than Readland’s GPT4o API call. He’s asking for a setting to be made available within Readlang to be able to configure where the translation call is made to.
