Upload Text on Reedlang

Hi, I cannot upload any text on Reedlang. I can write the text, but when I press on upload plain text, it does not do anything. Best Regards, Sam

Sorry about this. I’ve just tested and it works for me (macOS, Chrome). Which browser are you using?

Chrome, Android, Chromebook

I have tried again to paste a text and upload it, but it is still not working

I’ve just tested on Chrome on an old underpowered Android phone and again it worked in my case. And I see that texts are getting uploaded by other users too. So I’m not having any luck reproducing the problem you’re having.

Please could you send me the exact text you’re trying to upload. Either share it here in the forum or email me at steve@readlang.com.

And if there’s any other information you can provide that may help me investigate this, please share.

I cant upload any text that I want to read. I just put text there and try to press "upload plain text" button but its not working.

One thing I didn’t mention that’s worth a try is simply refreshing or opening a new Readlang tab.

If that doesn’t work, it would help a lot if you could open the Javascript console and then try uploading and see what happens.

  2. With the Javascript console visible, try to upload the text
  3. If anything appears in the Javascript console, please copy and paste it for me to see

but I`ve just tried doing this on my phone and it worked. But I usually read from my laptop using Crome. I read a lot every day and upload a lot every day maybe this is a problem

Glad to hear it worked from your phone. There shouldn’t be a limit to how many texts you can upload at the moment.

Did you try refreshing the Readlang tab on your laptop to see if that helps?

Any details you can provide about your laptop would be helpful. Operating system, version of Chrome, internet connectivity, etc…

Hi Steve. I uploaded two texts in Dutch from my laptop this morning, and have had no problems before today. But this evening, 20.30 Central European time (from Poland), it’s not uploading a different Dutch text, either on Edge from my laptop, or on Chrome on my Samsung A9 plus Android tablet. It is, however, uploading on Chrome from my Samsung M23 phone. And when I go back to the laptop, it’s showing up on the to read list ok, and on opening functions normally, accepting YouTube links, etc. All my devices are using the same wi-fi connection. I tried refreshing on the laptop, but it makes no difference.

Incidentally, it’s also uploading from an older Samsung phone without phone connection, so it’s nothing to do with the phone over-riding the wi-fi.

Update: I’ve just tried it on Chrome on the laptop, and it’s working, but still not on Edge. You can tell something’s wrong, because when you hover over “Upload”, the arrow doesn’t change to a hand.

I’ve fixed a bug which might have been the cause of this, although I’m not completely sure. Please refresh your Readlang tab, give it another try and let me know if it’s still happening for you.
