Oftentimes, subtitles don’t match up with dubbing/audio.
But on Netflix, I found an anime called “Delicious in Dungeon” and it has dubbing in French that almost perfectly matches the French subtitles.
So I made a (private) ReadLang document, pasted in the subtitles from an episode (sourced from Language Reactor) and then read along in ReadLang while I watched the episode on Netflix.
It appears that the Spanish subtitles also match the Spanish dubbing for this show, as do the German.
Here are some other Netflix shows where the subtitles seem to match up quite well with the dubbing (at least on a cursory glance):
- Pluto (French, Spanish, German)
- Bridgerton
Bee & Puppycat (Swedish, Spanish [CC]*)
Has anyone else found any others? These shows seem to be recent Netflix original series, so I’ll probably try more of those.
It’s nice for me to not only have the text while hearing native speakers read it, but also to have the accompanying visual provided by the show (i.e. someone says “Look at that tree!” and you actually see someone pointing at a tree)

- For some reason, the Spanish (Latin American) subtitles do not match the Spanish audio, but the Spanish (Latin American) [CC] subtitles DO match
