I’ve noticed that for Japanese and Chinese (and I’d guess other languages that don’t use spaces in sentences), rather than the whole word being highlighted when using read aloud, only the first character is highlighted, which makes it a bit uncomfortable to read along.
It would be useful if we could toggle off highlighting while using the read aloud feature. I’ve found it useful for the beginning stages of language learning, but as my reading has improved the TTS highlighting has become less useful and more of a distraction, so it would be beneficial not just for this specific bug, but for any language where the user can follow the audio without the need for visual support.
