Total words incorrect?

I just started using this site a few days ago, and have discovered that when I look at the total words on my completed texts, the total reported is not the same as the total found from adding up the texts shown as completed. For example, my page currently shows a total of 11046 words, but the total is actually 10195.

Also, the total amount does not appear to increment correctly when I finish a new text. The total increases by more than the number of words in the text I just finished.

Is something being counted that I am not aware of? Thanks for your help.

Update: My total today shows 10196, which is nearly correct. The total has changed since yesterday. I also read a short text as a test and the total words incremented correctly.

I actually wrote the following response yesterday but forgot to post :man_facepalming:

Thanks for reminding me about this! It should now be fixed.

More details

Readlang used to convert each word into a clickable token for the purposes of clicking/dragging to include it in a translation, and the number of these tokens was assumed to be the number of words in the text. At some point I changed things so that some punctuation was also converted to clickable tokens (e.g. question marks) so that you could choose to include it or not in the translation. The total count was using the old assumption that the number of tokens was the same as the number of words. I’ve now fixed it so that it actually counts the number of words.

I also noticed that the word count for each text would sometimes be rounded to the most significant 3 digits. It no longer does this so you may now notice more precise values (e.g. 12,765 instead of 12,800).

Thank you! I appreciate your help.
