Switching display language

Hi guys.

Does anyone know if there is a way to change Readlang’s display language. When I switch the “I know” language to Vietnamese (I’m hoping to use Readlang as an English teaching tool for a Vietnamese speaker), the site’s UI stays in English. If the site UI simply isn’t available in Vietnamese, it’s not a big issue, but I thought I’d ask in case there was an option somewhere that I missed.

Thanks!

Sorry, there’s no option to change the UI language. It probably seems a strange oversight for a language learning platform, but I run this site on my own and fear that supporting extra UI languages would slow down development. Also, since Readlang is targeted more at intermediate and advanced learners, I figure that it’s not too big a deal for the UI to be in English.

Ah I figured that was probably the case, but always worth asking. Fair reasoning too. Thanks for answering!
On the subject though, is there a way (or plans for a way) for people to contribute to the site, besides posting suggestions, such as providing said UI translations? I assume this question has been asked before, but my forum-diving skills are a bit rusty and I haven’t been able to find such a discussion myself.

Localizing the UI (whether via user contributions or not) is not the short term roadmap I’m afraid. Again the reason is that the added complexity would slow down future development.

The main way that users can contribute right now is by adding high quality content to the public libraries (without violating copyright laws!), and by spreading the word so that more people are aware of Readlang. If you had any other ideas in mind for how you’d like to contribute, please let me know

Understood, and fair enough. I’m honestly very impressed with Readlang as is, so you bet I’ve been spreading the word already. If I think of anything useful, I’ll post in Suggestions.
