It would be great to be able to use the tool like a bilingual edition. The interlinear text is best. The second option is a bilingual edition with two languages on opposite pages.
What I’d love to do is upload two books in two languages and then display them side by side. I can already do that by having them in two separate windows, but it would be great to have the AI synchronize the text so that if I flip the page on one, it would flip in on the other as well. Ideally the text would be at the same level and each coresponding paragraph would be alligned.
I would use this in landscape mode and also having the explain tab as well. So maybe translation on the left, target language on the right and then the explain to the right of that. That’s untill we can move the explain tab around.
What have a translation when one has ChatGPT? Style, word choice, etc. I asked translators if they use ChatGPT to translate and they say the use it sometimes, but they want to translate in a certain voice and don’t want ChatGPT interfering with that. GhatGPT is mostly right, but not perfect. There’s might phrases that might not be translated the best way by ChatGPT, etc
A good practice when reading is to read the translation first and then the original text and then reference back specific sentences, phrases etc. Having both side by side would help a great deal. This would be in addition to the explain function, not a replacement to it.
