Selecting different language for studying

when i want to study other languages there is “last used language list” in the " Select the language you are learning" section. but " Select your first language" section there is not any last used language etc. setting. each time i need to find my native language for studying. i added two screenshot. it clarify the situations.

I assume that the vast majority of people will just pick a single first language and stick with it. Out of interest, what benefits do you get from switching your first language?

This would be really helpful too for people native or proficient in a Romance language as well as in English. When I study Swedish, I like to study from English, as it is more similar, but when I study Italian or Catalan, it makes more sense to study it from Spanish.

Just adding my voice to this, or I’m primarily learning French; and for that I’ll use Swedish/English as the first,

But I’m testing Spanish/Italian/Latin too, and then I want to use French as the first
So I keep swapping quite often

I’ve mentioned this before, I actually use multiple “native” languages even while studying the same language. I use English because the automatic translations to English are (or at least were until recently) of a better quality, but sometimes I use my true native language (Czech) when there is a closer equivalent.
