Russian Pronunciation in Library Text

When Readlang pronounces Russian in text I have imported myself (maybe in library text generally), it exhibits some oddities that don’t show up when reading text directly in the browser:

  • the soft sign at the end of words, instead of softening the preceding consonant, it literally pronounces the letter as “мягкий знак” (this is the most consistent oddity)
  • I have also heard it sometimes mispronounce the “г” as in “нового” (should sound like the Russian “в” instead of a “г”
  • and the stress is often wrongly placed as in “этого” but that seems to be true for both reading library text and the original article

On further observation, these issues do sometimes appear in all situations - not just reading from my library.

Also, this is a minor annoyance. Not a big deal.

Sorry about this.

Does this happen with Speaking Mode (just the words/phrases you click on and in practice sessions) or Read Aloud (where it reads the entire text)?

I have not tried read aloud, only tried speaking mode.
