Hi all, has anyone else noticed that the Readlang website doesn’t seem to load on Kindle anymore? I’m not sure if the issue is only happening on my device or if others are experiencing it? Thanks, Callum.
I made a change a few days ago to simplify some of Readlang’s code which relies on newer browser features. There’s a good chance that this is what caused the problem. I’ve just added something to make this more compatible so please give it another shot and let me know if it works again.
Hello Steve,
Thank you for your prompt reply. It was fixed two days ago i was able to read again from my kindle kids version’s web browser. Today library section is not working again. I can reach out to words, practise parts. Would it be possible to make configuration to fix library page too?
Thank you very much in advance.
Edit: Now the page in the practice section also cannot be fully displayed in the correct scale.
Hi Steve, thanks. As reported by @Gizem it started working again a few of days ago and I was able to load the reader on my kindle. However from at least two nights ago (maybe after you applied additional updates?) it is not working again. I can access the website now, but when I open books from my library it just shows a white screen in the kindle and doesn’t load…
Hi Steve,
Any chance of this being fixed?
I only really use Readlang at night when I read on my Kindle. So if it’s going to be a persistent issue then it’s probably not worth me continuing to subscribe.
Thanks,
Callum.
I’ve just pushed an update that I think might fix this. Please give it a shot and let me know if it’s worked for you or not.
Hello,
I’ve just checked, and it’s working for me now
. Thank you very much for you kind attention and help!![]()
Hello Steve,
Today I am having same issue again.Would it be possible to help me? I can’t use readlang from my kindle anymore.
Sorry this came back. It’s the same problem as before, where some newer browser features slip into the code and Kindle’s older browser can’t handle them.
I’ve just pushed an update that replaces the incompatible parts, so please refresh and give it another shot on your Kindle. To stop this from recurring, I’ve added an automatic check that now runs every time I deploy, which makes it less likely that these Kindle-incompatible features get into the live site. It’s not a guarantee though, so if this happens again, please continue to let me know!
Hello Steve,
Thank you very much for your prompt feedback. Now it’s working again:folded_hands:t3:![]()
