I don’t know how else to explain this other than explain that the voice change happens, then changes back to the voice I’ve selected, then changes back again to the man. I call him a “gringo man” because he speaks about 1/2 as fast and has a heavy “don’t know a damn thing about the Spansh language” American accent.
I would say it is a practical joke but it ain’t April 1. And it ain’t halloween, either.
It is pretty much unbearable to have some gringo male who sounds like he doesn’t know a thing about Spanish intonation hijack the reading and act, cluelessly, like the worst possible model of how to pronounce Spanish… Worse than ghetto.
FWIW, I am on an old version of Apple iOS using an appropriately older version of the brave (chrome based) browser. These haven’t changed in the last year. This odd behavior is pretty new. I noticed it for the first time about a week ago. Then it went away during some longer reads. Now it is back. It seemed to get triggered when I used the “j” button to back up the reading input, but I’m not sure that is actually what triggered it, because I was also doing some highlighting on words to get translations, and maybe that is what set it off?
