Hi! Is it a bug that Arabic doesn’t have read aloud? I really need this function for Arabic, and if not possible to activate, could I get a refund please? I got premium thinking it’d be available then
Support for Read Aloud depends on your specific browser and device and which languages it has installed. For Read Aloud I recommend using Microsoft Edge browser which has a good selection of voices, including multiple Arabic ones, available on all platforms except for iOS.
I am using a Motorola edge 50, I tried chrome, brave and just tried edge as well and no luck also downloaded the corresponding voice pack for Arabic, it reads individual words aloud when I click on them but doesn’t have the play button to play audio
I don’t know about Arabic, but generally if you’re using the Edge app in Android, you need to first activate Read Aloud in the Edge menu.
At the top right you’ll see three horizontal lines. Clicking on these opens the Edge menu, and near the bottom there should be an “A” labelled “Read aloud”, or similar. Click on this, and a player should appear at the top of the page. You could use this, but it’s quicker to use Readlang’s player (language automatically selected, for example).
Now, close the text you’re reading, and open it again. Readlang’s Play button should now appear, and on the first play will ask you to choose a voice.
As far as I can see, if you open a new text in the same language, the Play button will still be there, but if you change language, then you have to activate the feature in the Edge menu again.
Incidentally, when I first downloaded the Edge Android app, I had the same problem. It was only when I asked ChatPT that I discovered how to do it.
Thank you so much for the detailed answer! It works perfectly
Great! Happy listening.
