Read Aloud button missing only for Chinese?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone else suddenly lost access to the Read Aloud button? Up until a few days ago, the play button was visible, but now it’s gone. I also went into the settings and the option to select voices is also not visible.

This is happening across different devices and browsers for me:

  • PC: Windows / Microsoft Edge
  • Phone: iOS / Safari

The strange part is this is only happening on my Chinese pages. My French pages still have the Read Aloud button and work perfectly fine.

Is anyone else experiencing this language-specific issue, or is it a known bug with multi-language setups? Thanks!

I also added other languages to my learning list like Spanish and Korean to test and the Read Aloud also works normally

I temporarily lost this button for Swedish and am now having issues with Read Aloud despite having the button back.

I’ve just posted about it elsewhere in the forum.

I don’t use the Read Aloud feature frequently but I do miss it now that it’s gone.

Browser generated voices should now be back for Chinese. Sorry about that!
