I made a post a few months back regarding some issues I noticed with Sorani Kurdish on Readlang, but unfortunately, I haven’t received a response so I thought I’d make a little follow up, as this is an area of great interest to me and likely to others studying Sorani Kurdish.
Essentially, the Kurdish language is two separate languages - with Kurmanji being written in the Latin script and Sorani being in the Arabic script. As far as I am aware, Readlang only supports Kurmanji directly, however I believe it should support Sorani as well.
The built in AI feature seems to translate texts I upload in Sorani with great accuracy, however, due to it not being programmed to the arabic script, certain errors occur, such as wildly wrong translations (non-AI), as well as highlighted words being shifted to the left side of the text.
I am just reaching out to kindly ask for support of this language, or at least an acknowledgement if this is something that won’t be added.
I’ve been a premium user of Readlang for several months now, and I understand it to be the most useful language tool I have ever used, combining the best parts from (in my opinion) three best langauge learning apps - LingQ, Clozemaster and Anki, at a very reasonable price.
Therefore adding Sorani support would not only enhance the platform but also make it an even more invaluable tool for language learners like me.
Thank you,
George
