I’ve managed to add the Safari “extension” of Readlang for my Mac, and it’s working great. Unlike what we get on the website for Chinese, we don’t get the pinyin for the word or phrase selected. This is really necessary for beginners like me. I would like to see the pinyin of words both when I click on English words to get the Chinese translation and when I click on Chinese words and get the English translation. Thank you and congratulations on an excellent app.
You should also get pinyin transliterations using the Web Reader now. Please let me know it’s working OK.
Thank you so much. It is working when I translate a word in Chinese into English. When I click on a word in English, though, to get the Chinese, it just shows me the characters but not the pinyin and that would be helpful to have. Thank you. Again, yours is a great app and great extensions.
Oh, interesting, I hadn’t thought about adding it in that case. I think it’s unlikely I’ll add that though since if you are reading English texts to get Chinese translations Readlang assumes you are fluent in Chinese and in this case providing a pinyin transliteration doesn’t seem necessary. In your case, if I understand correctly, perhaps you are using Readlang to click on English to see the Chinese even though you are a Chinese learner, but this isn’t actually the intended way to use Readlang. Please correct me if I’ve misunderstood anything.
