An annoying bug came with the new update (latest ios, home screen readlang).
As shown in the video, sometimes the page turnes to the previous one with no reason (while im listening and checking translations).
Just to confirm — margins are locked, so i have to press arrows to turn pages.
UPD: i think it occurs when im trying to translate more than 1 word, i mean a phrase, 2+ words together in one translation, hope im making myself clear
UPD2: the same behaviour is witnessed with another language in a text without an audio
Thanks for reporting this. This was an intentional change.
The idea is that now you can use a quick swipe left to turn to the next page and a quick swipe right to turn back to the previous page. This is as a convenient alternative to the page turn buttons and matches the expected behavior of most e-reader apps.
Obviously, there is the risk of this interfering with the translate function as you’ve discovered. To mitigate this, the way it works is that it will only interpret a swipe as a page turn if it’s fast and horizontal. If your swipe lasts more than 300ms and you’ve swiped across words on the page, you will see the highlight appear. As soon as you see the highlight appear, you can remove your finger knowing that it will perform the translation instead of the page swipe.
Please give it a try with this in mind and let me know if it’s still bothering you.
If anyone else has accidentally turned pages using this new touch gesture, please let me know!
