On apple intelligence it allows you to login with your GPT Plus account in order to use the more intelligent model w/ your phones services. I was wondering if it would be possible to set things up for those of us who are already pay for a GPT plus account to connect to readlang in the same way and get the more intelligent model.
I really like premium plus, but it simply doesnt make sense to shell out an extra $9/month to use an AI that I’m already paying a seperate $15/month sub for.
I would second this with the ask to allow to bring your own key for the OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Backrock.
I get where you’re coming from. Pricing for many online services can seem a bit arbitrary and not 100% correlated with the cost it takes to actually run the service, which I understand might be frustrating. The fact is that part of the reason for the increased cost is to fund continued development of Readlang.
Despite that, I did look into this, and it seems that sharing your own key with a “bring your own key” service is actually prohibited by OpenAI’s policies: OpenAI's "bring your own key" policy - #2 by ishant.singh - API - OpenAI Developer Forum. I don’t think this applies to software which runs locally (e.g. your iPhone or a code editor like Cursor) but it would apply to Readlang which would require that I store your API key on my server.
