Hi Steve,
I wanted to suggest a new feature that could really enhance the Readlang experience:
Would it be possible to add an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) function, similar to Google Translate’s camera feature, that lets users scan printed texts (like books or papers) and then immediately use Readlang’s features on the recognized text?
This would be especially useful for learners who are working with physical materials and want to quickly get translations, word saving, and pronunciation support — all within the Readlang ecosystem.
Thanks again for your great work, and I hope this idea is worth considering!
Best regards,
Ali
Something similar and perhaps easier to start with would be a tool that inspects documents done with bad OCR. I find that happens a lot with Greek in which th changes to d all the time along with a few others if the font is sort of archaic one.

I’m completely ignorant on the technical side, but I would have thought that was quite a big ask. I would just like to say, however, that I already make quite extensive use of Google Lens to copy materials into Readlang, from, for example, Google Play Books or Kindle. I open the text on as large a screen as possible, with as small a font as possible, to reduce the number of shots I need. I then use Google Lens on my phone, copy and paste to Readlang (via Google Docs - easier editing).
