is there a way to delete flash cards that have the same meaning? For example if I have mañana = tomorrow on 4 sets I don’t don’t need all four. But there doesn’t seem to be a way to quickly search for duplicate sets.
Readlang won’t create a second flashcard for a word you already have. If you save mañana again from another text it merges into your existing card and adds the new context to it, so you should only ever have one mañana card.
So what you’re most likely seeing is several different Spanish words, or different forms of the same word, that happen to share one English translation. Before deleting those, it’s worth asking whether you want to. Readlang deliberately tracks each form of each word separately, because the aim is that you recognise every form you meet while reading.
If you do still want to remove some:
- Go to your Word List.
- Type the meaning (e.g.
tomorrow) into the “Lookup word or phrase” box at the top and click Search. Search matches translations as well as the original word, so the cards sharing that meaning appear together. - Tick the checkboxes for the ones you want to remove.
- Click “Actions” and choose “Delete”.
That moves them to your Deleted list rather than removing them for good, so it’s easy to undo. You’re right that there’s no way to scan your whole list for shared meanings in one go at the moment.
