Customized spaced repetition?

Is there a way to customize the spaced repetition settings, or could this feature be added? After many years of using Anki exclusively I decided to try more reviewing flashcards within Readlang in order to focus more on quick passive recall for reading. I’m noticing that I’m getting 90%+ correct when I review cards even without looking at the context, which to me means that I’m seeing review cards too soon and not using my study time efficiently. It seems like words I’ve never got wrong I’m still seeing multiple times in the first week. I’d like to be able to set it so that the first time I get a new word right, I’ll see it again in 3-4 days rather than 1 day.

I really love the ability to review only words from a certain text, focusing on passive recall, and later when I finish the text I can choose to export to Anki only the ones I want to learn to use actively in my speech and writing. But this customization would take it from good to great!

I’ve just added a new “Review Spacing” setting on your settings page with four options:

  • Closer - repeats come back sooner
  • Standard - the existing behaviour, and still the default
  • Wider - first repeat after roughly 2 days, and gaps grow faster
  • Widest - first repeat after roughly 3 days, with the fewest repeats overall

For your case “Wider” or “Widest” sounds about right. It doesn’t reschedule cards that already have a review date, but every review from now on will use the new spacing, so your schedule will gradually widen out.

Thanks for the suggestion. Please let me know how it works out.
