How have people created lots of content in obscure languages? Basically it is slightly painful and slow to create content in the language I’m learning.
What would be amazing is if there was a way to worst case be able to browse the Wikipedia of the language we are learning as sort of an infinite source of content. That way we could just click to anther article if we got bored of the one we were reading and never run out of content.
Basically my process now is find news site in language and then manually import each article to Readlang.
Hi John! Thanks for posting! I’m not sure I fully understand. Is the issue that there isn’t a Wikipedia available for the language you’re interested in or that there is a Wikipedia but the workflow of using Readlang to read it isn’t convenient enough?
No the issue is that I want to learn Bosnian and there is no content. Creating content in the app that is actually interesting is very cumbersome. So I’m attempting to come up with hacks and/or brainstorming to accomplish it.
Another idea would be to seek out novels in Bosnian.
If you’re at a more beginner level, I’ve been able to use ChatGPT to create beginner level versions of classic stories or biographies of famous people in Spanish and French. It’s not always 100% natural but it’s pretty good if you use the best models (gpt-4 or the new gpt-4o). Unfortunately I imagine it’ll make more mistakes for more obscure languages though, so I’d want to get feedback from a native speaker on the quality before trusting it.
