I have a small problem that is a bit annoying for me. Every time I translate a word in my book, (for the case when it’s the first translated word in that line) the line kind of jumps (so the translated word is shown). The entire text is than being re-positioned. I wonder if there is a way to do something about it. E.g. maybe having the linebreaks of the size that would allow the translation to be shown without any repositioning of words?
Sorry, but for now this is just how Readlang works. I accept that it’s slightly quirky and may feel a bit weird at first but I think you get used to it pretty quickly.
I’m not sure I like the idea of leaving really large vertical spacing to accommodate the translations since I think it would look a bit ugly and also handling phrases which span across multiple lines would be a bit tricky.
I’ve occasionally considered a mode where the translations appear as an overlay without affecting the underlying page layout, which would be a more typical UI than what Readlang does.

This is my experience on this particular issue. When I translate a word, the entire text repositions, causing words to shift to the next page. This makes it difficult to maintain my place in the text, as the last few words often move back and forth between pages. When learning a new language it do need to turn back and forth the pages.
Could you please consider implementing a solution that minimizes text repositioning? For example, displaying translations in a tooltip or a side panel could prevent the text from shifting and maintain readability without obscuring the original text.
Yeah, I hear you. I have some ideas and will experiment with a tooltip mode.
