Books to recommend (Español)

Hi,

I’m looking for any recommendations for books in Spanish that you’ve used in readlang (C1-C2 level, preferably).

They can be free or paid for, but I’d prefer them to have been written in the past 30 years.

Thanks!

If you want to read copyrighted works on Readlang, please find a way to purchase the text legally and upload it to your private Readlang account (note that to upload to Readlang the text will need to be DRM-free).

Full novels/novelas I’ve actually finished reading in Spanish on Readlang. Not all from past 30 years though:

  • Harry Potter (the first two) - JK Rowling
  • La Sombra del Viento - Carlos Ruiz Zafón
  • El Tiempo Entre Costuras - María Dueñas
  • Relato de un naufrago - Gabriel García Márquez
  • La metamorfosis - Franz Kafka

Thanks for the recommends. I’d like to add a couple that I think are good for c1:

If you like roman-era historical fiction then look up the author Santiago Postiguello. I’m making muy way through his Africanus trilogy and it’s readable, vocab is not toó complicated and the chapters are short.

Other writers I’d like to recommend are:

Eduardo Mendoza,

Rosa Montero,

Javier cercas,

And if you like easy crime fiction Juan Gomez jurado’s la reina roja series is a fun read.
