Subscribed to your product to read the great contemporary history of Spain “Ni una, ni grande, ni libre” by Nicolás Sesma. 2,000 pages though. 14MB epub. Too large. Not happening. Sigh.
In this digital day and age, your book size limit looks completely out of date. 14MB in 2026? Honestly? Can you lift the bar please, Readlang?
Hi, @Curmudgeon . Congrats on your first post. I looked into the book you mentioned and there are versions out there that are below the limit. Most books of pure text are well below the RL limit. What can make a sizable difference is the inclusion of images.
In the past when I’ve run up against the limit, I’ve edited the epub down to not include images at upload (RL just ignores them anyway). That might be an option for you.
All right. Downloaded Calibre. Converted the EPUB to txt. Uploaded to Readlang. All the pain in the buttock that you want to avoid as a paying customer but never mind…
Glad you found a workaround even if it’s a little frustrating. You’d have my vote for a feature request to support images. Would you maybe consider your first suggestion post?
Can you lift the bar please, Readlang?
I’ve just raised the epub upload limit from 4.5MB to 20MB, so your 14MB book should import directly now. Please refresh your Readlang browser tab first if you want to try it.
Sorry about the Calibre detour in the meantime. Images inside the epub are still skipped during import, but with the higher limit they’re much less likely to push a book over.
Please let me know if you still have problems.
You’re a champ!
