AI context not helpful

New user here. I found the AI contextual translation not as helpful as it could be, in that it is always trying to rephrase or explain the literal meaning of a phrase/word which is useless because it’s only restating the obvious.

example here:

*The French phrase “à rester au frais” translates to “to stay cool” in English.

In a usual context, “rester au frais” generally means to remain in a cool or comfortable temperature, often referring to avoiding heat or staying in a shaded or air-conditioned area.

In the context of the sentence you provided, it specifically refers to the measures that zoos take to ensure that animals are kept comfortable and safe from high temperatures during hot weather. This could involve providing shaded areas, water sources, or other cooling methods to help the animals cope with the heat.*

- → the second+third paragraph add nothing to my language learning. yet I still need to look up elsewhere to understand why the ‘au’ was in there and what it is (à + le = au)

I feel like the whatever prompt that was being used can be improved to emphasize on explaining the grammar, patterns, or sentence structure etc. Or at least we should be able to customize the prompt somehow.

Otherwise love this website!

Agree… let us customize the prompt or give more options for different prompts, please!

Totally agree as well. For verbs, it would be rather helpful to have the conjugations over a wall of texts paraphrasing. Would love the prompt to apply across all future words (after clicking ‘Report bad translation’)

we should be able to customise it

Is there a solution? :folded_hands:
