I was surprised to find that spending all the time and effort to complete a full chat session (which took me the better part of an hour, maybe because I am trying to be creative and expansive) wasn’t weighted nearly as much as doing a 25 word Blitz review. Indeed, the full chat session wasn’t anywhere near enough to qualify as having made a day’s minimum effort??
The relative weighting seems really cock-eyed and ‘discouraging’ to me, since the Chat session was a whole lot more challenging and time consuming than, say, Blitzing 25 words.
I know the calculation for how much credit a full chat session should earn is hard to gauge, because it depends largely on how hard one stretches oneself. But I think it should, at least, meet the minimum requirement BY ITSELF for having practiced that day. Otherwise, you inadvertently reward people for avoiding chat – when chat is, arguably, the hardest thing for a language learner to do with their time.
