I’ve just started to use Readlang (French), and specifically, while reading the French newspaper Le Monde. I click on a word I don’t know, look under the Chrome add-ons to find Import to Readlang. When I’ve clicked on that, first appears ‘Saving’, then ‘Saved to Readlang’.
At first I wanted to check immediately whether the word had indeed been saved, and when it hadn’t, I initiated a conversation with ChatGBT. Afterwards, I thought perhaps the program needed more time, so the next time I went into the same article on Le Monde, I looked up several words then after awhile checked with the Readlang site. None of the words had been saved. (I should mention that on one trial, a word I looked up on Le Monde did appear.) Maybe, as ChatGPT mentioned it’s simply a question of the Le Monde website not synchronising properly with Readlang. Any ideas?
Looks like it needs a debug session (like watching network activity and browser’s console output, though I’m not sure if it works with plugins the same way as with pages content itself)

When I highlighted a word I wanted to look up, I right-clicked it (actually clicked with two fingers since I have a Mac) and scrolled down past Google translate to the Readlang icon (‘Import to Readlang’) to save it. The screen showed.‘Saving’ then something like, Go to Readlang. But I couldn’t find my word there. (While writing this I have realised that I had to use the arrows to go forward or back in the whole text that is reproduced in Readlang. I didn’t understand this as the arrows are greyed out…looks like I have to familiarise myself a bit better with Readlang!)
ChaGPT was helping me to understand where the problem was.
Ah I see. Yes, I think it would be worth familiarising yourself with the different ways of using Readlang. This tutorial video might be a useful starting point.
When you’re right-clicking and selecting ‘Import to Readlang’, that’s actually importing the whole article. It doesn’t do anything with the word you had highlighted. You can use that to import the article and then read it and translate words within Readlang’s reader.
The alternative approach (and what I think it sounds like you were trying to do), is to click the Readlang browser extension to activate it within the Le Monde page, then click words to translate them (and also add them to your Readlang word list). That tutorial video explains how to do this.
